mesin penenun hujan

"Merakit mesin penenun hujan, hingga terjalin terbentuk awan
Semua tentang kebalikan, terlukis, tertulis, tergaris di wajahmu

Keputusan yang tak terputuskan, ketika engkau telah tunjukkan
Semua tentang kebalikan, kebalikan di antara kita

Kau sakiti aku, kau gerami aku
Kau sakiti, gerami, kau benci aku
Tetapi esok nanti kau akan tersadar
Kau temukan seorang lain yang lebih baik
Dan aku kan hilang, ku kan jadi hujan
Tapi takkan lama, ku kan jadi awan

Merakit mesin penenun hujan, ketika engkau telah tunjukkan
Semua tentang kebalikan, kebalikan di antara kita"

tempat berlindung di hari tua, tempat akhir menutup mata.

Hey folks,

among those 12 outermost points of Nusantara,

I'll be in Tanjung Dato, Kalimantan Barat, for a month.

I'll be there for my duty in kuliah kerja nyata UI 2010, with only nine other fellows from UI.

we split in two groups, consist of five persons each.

super-luckily, my group is chosen for doing the most interesting core program:

menggali wisata bahari, wisata alam dan budaya! yeyy :)

we also have eight routine programs, and I’ll be in charge for “bernyanyi, mendongeng, dan bermain permainan tradisional” and “kesehatan lingkungan (termasuk pembuatan pekarangan) dan KB untuk lelaki” program. what a work!

my senior said there's no signal at all in Tanjung Dato,

Telkom, even PLN never reach them.

but I hope it won't be a big deal since I know how wonderful this journey will be.

I thank God that most of the people in Tanjung Dato are moslems,

yet I still don't know whether I should use jilbab there (like in sabang) or not.

at least they don't drink minuman keras as in other destination of KKN, like Pulau Miangas,

or have some "orang moro", people which can literally disappear, like in Pulau Morotai.

Still, like everywhere in Kalimantan, the mystical culture in Tanjung Dato is still strong,

so I should give full attention of my attitude.

wish me best luck and experience, folks ;)

one of my best buddies said he's worried about my trip,

for he heard the news about big earthquake in Biak, about 7.6 richter,

and he wants me to consider that before I leave.

yes dear friend, I’ll take care of myself.

FYI there, Malaysia takes our natural resources over and over again.

I know this is what I want,

I wanna do something real for my Indonesia.

I’m taking a baby step and this is where I start.

It’s not going to be easy, but I know it’s going to be worth it.

for I live I take risk and I learn.

scandinavian harmony

Hey ho! Another "let's go" is for Super Youth II, held in fX lifestyle x'nter music lounge, on April 10th. It was a small gig. Many bands from Indonesia were covering scandinavian indiepop/indierock bands or soloist.

The plan was this gig will be going simply, and so it really was. It wasn't the gig where you can see guys jumping and screaming and headbanging and moshing. It was the little-but-crowded gig full of smiles of the audience, inhaling the harmony of scandinavian music, nicely.

I came there to see Indonesian mates playing the song of Mew and Sigur Ros. Cause I love Mew and Sigur Ros, I love Mew and Sigur Ros, and I love Mew and Sigur Ros. Thank you.

That's all I wanna share to you guys.

then i catch serigala militia

Right after I had my own quality time with myself watching film at Salihara alone, my boyf called and told me that Seringai in Rolling Stone hasn't perform yet but they're already on the stage. So I asked my friend whom I randomly met at Salihara and she said that she really needs a metal gig as an escape from her hectic week, so then we ran to find taxi then happpp we were instantly there and lucky us, Seringai hasn't start their play yet.

I myself, not a big fan of Seringai, but my boyf and my brothers are. That night Seringai was calling all the wolves, but I think the wolves (the crowd) did not really show their canine. Well I enjoyed my time there, cause they played the song "Citra Natural", and Arian (the vocalist) said "We play this song for you, ladies." :)

Citra Natural by Seringai

hey sayang.
mengapa engkau cemas?
tak usah menjadi sesuatu yang bukan dirimu.
termakan. terbuai. dengan segala citra emas.
nilai diri, mengapa jadi ragu?
biarkanlah, tak perlu frustasi. tercitra.
kau cantik, apa adanya.
terbuai? cukup percaya diri. tercitra.
kau cantik, apa adanya.
terlena? indah, pancarkan isi.
hey sayang, semua citra di layar kaca.
tak berarti, dibanding tampil natural.
semua ini, terjual, pluralitas tak berharga.
bayang semu dan tidaklah kekal.
ah sudahlah, tak perlu depresi.

at the very bottom of everything

For me, this is the second best film I've ever watched in my life, after Pintu Terlarang. Absurd and imaginative. Every single phrase of the script is damn meaningful, like the writer gave all his deepest thoughts in one film. I can feel the script was made from a combination of prose and poetry of life philosophy, which are all nicely arranged to one unique unity. At first I planned to write down all quotes I can take from the film, but then a minute later I gave up, for I would end up with writing the whole script! All hail Paul Augusta and all the team!

And yes, for me, all the visual thingy (which, of course I'm not an expert in) are brilliant. If one day you guys have a chance to watch this film (anyway this film only ever played twice in Indonesia so far), take a detail look of the stop motion parts, it's rough but I love it. And I love the image of hurtful in purity; naked human with several bloody scars trying to reach the light -that's my fave scene.

"At The Very Bottom of Everything (Di Dasar Segalanya)" produced by KineKuma Pictures in cooperation with PT. Visi Integra Media and produced with financial support from the Hubert Bals Fund of the International Film Festival Rotterdam.

Directed by Paul Agusta, produced by Laguna WK and Paul Agusta.

Kartika Jahja whose role is being the manic depressive woman who will take us on a journey in her roller coaster, once wrote on her blog, http://lowquacity.multiply.com/journal/item/375/At_the_very_bottom_of_everything :

"This film will take viewers on a journey through the mind of a manic depressive, or by its more current name, bipolar disorder. What it feels like, the struggles against the sickness, and a better understanding of the disease.

I must admit, I am thrilled to take this role. I am thrilled to tell the world that manic depression is not a weakness. It's an invisible virus that you cant kill. But you can fight it. You mustn't linger in self pity and drown in your own pool of fear and insecurity. There are ways.
And this film will help."

alone in a crowded salihara

The night of April 9th I went to Salihara alone, with no partner. I never like to be alone, but cause my boyf really wanted to see Seringai in Rolling Stone release party which is held on the very same time with the film in Salihara, so we decided to go to our own destination, alone.

Unlike usual, Salihara was crowded. This is beyond my expectation, there were a lot of "bule" for apparently an exhibition was held. I thought it wasn't gonna be fun at all, everyone was talking to their fellows but me.

I was there to watch "At The Very Bottom of Everything", and unexpectedly I had my own definition of fun, for the fact that the film is GREAT, and the film makers and actors were all coming :)

Alone was not that bad after all, it apparently gave me chance to enjoy the film with my deeper thought, with my clearer point of view, with my own unique understanding.

“Loneliness adds beauty to life. It puts a special burn on sunsets and makes night air smell better.” (Henry Rollins)

See the next post to know about the super brilliant film!

the march of me

Aloha, folks :)

Since this is the very first post of my blog, I'd like to share the reason why my blog is called "hey ho let's go!".

So that is the tittle of Ramones' song I've been listening like zillion times lately. I open the almighty-Youtube and search for this song. Wait 'til the buffering process done then play it. Play it over and over again. I can feel the beat and the energy and the funny rush. Frankly I don't really understand the meaning of the whole song and I have no intention of knowing it further, but this Ramones's song simply makes me feel like running and running with laughter.

I like the way it feels, running while laughing is the analogy of the way I live my life. I do run to catch my finish line, which are dreams and goals, yet I also do laugh cause I enjoy the fun of my journey! My breath might be heavier, for it takes more energy to do them both, but I know the value I gain is surely worth it :)

Hey Ramones, though you guys don't know how much this song means to me, as I don't even know the real meaning of your song, but well.. thank you!
